Your Birth, Your Way. I’m here to help!

Hi, I'm Elsa, a mom of four, a certified birth and postpartum doula, and soon-to-be breastfeeding educator serving families across the Twin Cities Metro area. I hold birth doula certifications through DONA International (2012) and Birth Arts International (2026).

I first became a doula in 2012 and spent three years supporting families before pausing my practice to raise my own children. In the years since, I've continued to walk alongside close friends and family through their own births. Through every chapter, one thread has stayed constant: a deep love for caring for and educating families and young children. Now, I'm returning to this work with the same heart, and a lot more life experience.

I believe birth is sacred, and that families thrive when they feel informed, empowered, and supported. Every parent deserves steady, compassionate guidance through one of the most transformative times of their lives.

I meet each family with a simple belief: you know yourselves best, and I trust you. My role is to meet you where you are, tailoring my support to your needs, your preferences, and your birth plan, whatever that looks like. Whether you're planning a hospital birth, a birth center birth, or a home birth, with or without pain medication, my goal is the same: to help you feel calm, prepared, and confident every step of the way.

I hold your cultural beliefs and practices as sacred, and I'm honored to support you in bringing them into your labor, birth, and postpartum time, whether that means advocacy, or simply understanding and honoring what matters to you. I personally understand the disparities that Black and brown families face in maternal healthcare, and I'm committed to doing my part to help minimize the risks and harm.

I believe pregnancy and birth are natural physiological processes and that for most families, with the right support, labor and birth can unfold safely and healthily. My support begins at our very first meeting, where I listen to what you're hoping for. From there, we build your birth plan together, prepare intentionally using evidence-based resources, and practice positions and comfort measures so you feel calm, ready and at ease.

My hope is that every family I work with feels they had enough information to make confident, informed decisions about their care and their baby’s, regardless of birth setting. And that, with my support, you feel ready to use your voice to advocate for yourself and what you need.

My family is multicultural, and I've spent time living in, visiting, and learning about other cultures and languages. We deeply value and honor the beauty that comes with diversity in thought, culture, and belief. It's from this place that I show up to support you in your own transformative, sacred time. Difference is beautiful and it can be a place where we find ourselves.

When I'm not doula-ing, you'll usually find me with friends, outdoors hiking, gardening, or walking my dog, Koi. I also love reading, writing, and practicing yoga. And of course, there's nothing I treasure more than time with my kids precious now that they're all older teens and adults..
